I'm happily married to Mr. Man. We have 2 daughters, Big R and Little R. I'm a stay at home mom. We moved from the big city to the country, living a dream. I'm a collector and a packrat. I'd rather read a book than watch a movie. I battle depression. I love life, but that wasn't always the case. This is my journal.

Happy Saturday

Greetings.
Man, yesterday was the longest day ever. It seemed like the day would never end. Being an "inclement weather" day, I had Little R, unexpectedly, in my face all day. We baked cupcakes! For whatever reason, I've been unable to find any of the cookie mixes we usually get. I suspect that's because we now shop at No Frills instead of Sobey's. There is a lot of stuff they just don't carry. I've been too busy with everything else to bother with it. We usually have a cookie decorating party, and yesterday would have been perfect for that, oh well, cupcakes it is then! But you know, all it did was just rain all day, so it was strange for the buses to be cancelled...
We're pretty much done with all the shopping now. Glad that's over. Now it's four days straight of quality family time, just hanging out, relaxing together, enjoying each others company for a change. Other than Hubby going to town for a haircut at some point today, we aren't going anywhere for 4 days! We aren't having any company, until Big R and her little entourage come up on the 26th, unless, of course, we have unexpected, surprise company, which has been known to happen to us before. Good thing I don't have a truckload of cookies and rumballs to give away this year!
We drove Little R to her friends' homes last night, to deliver the gifts which would've been delivered at school, had there been school. As we're tootling up one of the sideroads we came upon a buck on one side of the road, and a doe on the other! It was awesome. They stopped, staring at us, we stopped, staring at them, the buck went first, over the fence and away, (apparently I'm the only one who actually saw the buck), then the doe went the other way over the fence and gone. It was amazing, I LOVE when that happens!
And on our way we went, to town for a few groceries where we ran into S.W in the grocery store. Which reminds me that we ran into R.S at a gas station one night in town and also we ran into "Jade" in Walmart! I have found it a little odd that this has never happened before. We met well over a year ago, and she lives in a nearby town, but we never cross paths, until this time. I suppose it's possible that we just don't notice or recognize each other, since we hadn't really seen each other in person since we met lol. We are both members of an msn group, and we attend mutual bike events and stuff. But we didn't do much of that this year...
Oh oh oh! They just said on the radio there may be snow coming! Yay! I believe...I believe. I have faith in our little "weather bubble" here in paradise.
It looks like we'll be staying home for New Years too. That'll be a first since we've lived here. As Bear is like the son I never had, we'll be home puppysitting for Penelope, the grand-daughter I haven't had yet. She's like my practise run for grandbabies. Big R's peekapoo puppy.
This is going to be a quiet holiday for us (assuming Bear and Penelope can get along that is LOL). But that may be just the thing we need this year. I'm feeling much better about it actually. It's not so bad, not bad at all. I'm even beginning to enjoy it already.
So, have a fabulous day!
