Traditional Eclectic Is My Theme
Good morning.
I went to town yesterday. There was thick fog, which we seem to get a lot of here. It makes driving visibility worse than white outs from snow. On the way back the fog had settled down and the sun popped out. I got a wee bit more shopping done. The big stuff will have to wait until the 22nd or so. I just hope what we're looking for is available then. Since there is only one Walmart serving many towns, they tend to sell out of hot items. We have, as mentioned, 1 Walmart, 2 Canadian Tires, 2 Zellers, 1 Home Depot, 1 Future Shop and thats about it. Lots of small stores. Last year Hubby had to go down to the city for an iPod, and even there, it took him all day to find one and it was in a small no-name store. We figure this year if we can't find what we're looking for because everyone is sold out, we'll just get a rain check. Imagine getting a rain check for Christmas! Ah well, such is life in a small town.
The tree is still drinking heartily but has slowed down, thankfully. We're almost finished decorating it! Hubby and I were discussing theme trees the other day. We've never done that, not into it, our theme is "traditional eclectic". We figure by the time we're empty-nesters, we'll have amassed enough ornaments to amuse ourselves by doing colour themes. Then Hubby's imagination started to wander and he suggested we do "other" themes, like, paper and popcorn (in your dreams Honey), or Harley (maybe), etc. I think theme trees look great in magazines, catalogues and stores, but in real life, they're boring.
It sure is looking pretty green out there. I think I'll just have to shit my pants if we have a green Christmas. If I wanted a green Christmas I would go on a tropical vacation like so many other Canadians do. Let it snow, dammit.
A monster has been created! An ink swilling monster. I've been printing off photos at an alarming rate lol. Well, then I found these magnetic photo sleeves at Dollarama, 2 for a buck! We're gonna have a theme fridge, a photo theme, new day, new photos!
Speaking of photos, heres a couple from yesterday morning, Little R getting ready to leave for school and avoiding having her picture taken, and Bear waiting for the damn bus to come and go so he can go out to play with his half-a-Kong!
Have a great day!
