I'm happily married to Mr. Man. We have 2 daughters, Big R and Little R. I'm a stay at home mom. We moved from the big city to the country, living a dream. I'm a collector and a packrat. I'd rather read a book than watch a movie. I battle depression. I love life, but that wasn't always the case. This is my journal.

Let There Be Romance

Good morning.
Hubby is coming home from work early today to drive me to an appointment. I love these kinds of days. They're always good ones. After we're done with my 2:00 appointment, we'll grab a Timmys and drive around, checking out houses and stuff. I don't get to town all that often, without my car on the road, so I really enjoy this. We talk, like true conversations, because there is no TV or computer or kids or pets to distract us. We joke around a lot too. My Hubby makes me laugh. He always tells me he's the funniest guy I know! Hahaha.
We'll be picking up my next batch of miracle pills while we're out and about too, yippee!
Speaking of romance...the folks who were our gracious hosts on New Years Eve, had an interesting story to tell about their engagement. They lived in a rural community. He took a 30 acre field and cut out, (no one is quite sure HOW he did it), her name and "will you marry me?" Then he took her up in a small plane and flew over it. They have a newspaper clipping, complete with a photo of the field, as viewed from the plane, framed and hanging on their wall. How cool is that? I always thought my Hubby would do something dramatic like that, but he never did. I sometimes still think he will though, even though we've now been together forever. We never had much of a real type wedding, so he always said we will have a big todo on a landmark anniversary. In fact he never really properly proposed to me. He told me he wanted to marry me, thats about it. I kept saying no, holding out for the proper proposal I guess, and eventually, 8 years later, one day out of the blue, I said, lets do it. It was quick and painless. Rather spur of the moment. But I still want the romance and the gown and the flowers and champagne, lol. I just thought that was so sweet and romantic, had to share.
It looks like we're going to meet up with Jade and others and head down to the International Motorcycle Show on Saturday. I've never been to this event, and will likely find the show itself pretty boring, but it sounds huge and it's always fun to see other bikers you haven't seen in a while. C.C will be running a booth or something so I'll get to see her there too. It should actually be a fun afternoon.
I haven't said much about the execution of Saddam Hussein, not that I don't have anything to say about it, just that I'm trying to keep this non-controversial, remember? Talk about swift justice. I pretty much try to avoid politics, religion and sex, lol. And thats about all there is in the news.
I still haven't touched the game cube we got for Christmas. One reason for that is, the little twit working at Future Shop when we bought it, never thought to tell us we may need a memory card to save our games! I don't want to get all into it and make progress, and then not be able to save it, but have to start over again, ugh. I had a few experiences, while Christmas shopping, with teenage employees who had absolutely zero knowledge of the products they were selling. I kept meaning to mention those experiences here, because some of them were downright hilarious, but apparently forgot every time. Oh yeah, I remember one now, it was in the Hallmark store. Last year I got my father and one of my sisters these ornaments there, they were called Cloisonne, thats the technique used to make them, they are beautiful gold and enamel. Last year it was the employees who filled me in on what they were when I was paying for them, and gave me the little cards that came with them explaining the art. This year, when I didn't see them in the same spot I asked an employee where they were or if they even had them and she just looked at me like I was speaking Japanese, then she asked another employee, who had a similar reaction. They both looked at me like I was insane! Well, THEN I found the damn things myself and called that employee over, "hey! little girl, here they are! check this out, for future reference, THESE ARE CLOISONNE ornaments!" She couldn't have cared less I tell you. She again looked at me like I was insane and got away from me as quickly as I would let her get away LOL. Hey I was trying to help her out, educate her about her job a bit, in case another customer came in asking about them! She wanted no part of that shit.
And so, I'm off to start my day, have a good one!
