Men!
And good evening.
Here's a pic of the end result...I think it looks too busy, but what do I know?
After my appointment, we had errands to run, so there was no leisurely driving around. One errand took us to The Bargain Shop, which is rapidly becoming one of my favourite stores. Once I was finally able to get out looking for Boxing Month sales, I was hard-pressed to find any left over Christmas stuff, anywhere. The Bargain Shop had some! I got a set of Christmas dishes (as if I need MORE of those!) for $8! They have a holly pattern. I have 4 sets already, but I'm not overly fond of the pattern, and we haven't had that many people for dinner in years. This set was originally $30, then marked down to $16 and today they were $8, yippee for me. I got 3 packages of tree ornaments, lots of ornaments, for $2 each. I saw a ton of stuff I would have liked to buy, but alas, I had Hubby with me. He loses it when he sees me shop LOL. I snatch things up so quick he can't keep up with the mental tab, and it drives him crazy. He panics. He thinks I'm spending a fortune. Whenever I actually ask for his input, his opinion, he always says NO, what do you want that for, we don't need that, bla bla bla. But really dear, that wasn't the question. The question was, do you like the blue or the green better? Men! I didn't even make it to the wrapping paper section! Anyhow, it's a great store, they even have decent clothes at great prices. I look forward to going there without Hubby in tow hehe.
I don't know what's up lately with me doing all this accounting. It's so not like me. I don't usually care about money. I've become this total maniac about getting good deals. I think it might be because I went so long without any money and because I can now buy whatever, whenever, that I have to feel like I got a great deal to ease my guilt or something. Honestly, the last thing I need is more dishes or tree ornaments! Just like with yard sales, I never used to go to them, now, I stop at every one I see, and pretty much buy something at every one. And yet, I am constantly complaining about the clutter and all the "stuff" I have around! I have no one to blame but myself. Stop the insanity!
I used to say I needed 2 of everything so when I die each daughter will get one! Turns out, Big R doesn't want anything. She says it's just because she doesn't have the room for it, and that is true, her apartment is tiny, but still, who doesn't want a set of their mothers Christmas dishes??
And maybe this is why Hubby is in no big rush to get my car on the road. Maybe he thinks it will save him money. LOL. Little does he know, I am much choosier and frugal when I'm not being rushed and harrassed to hurry up. Men!
My appointment went well. She didn't need an attitude adjustment. She was very friendly and positive. It sucked that I went there with only 2 hours sleep under my belt though. She could tell right away that I was tired lol. Oh well, I should sleep like a baby tonight.
Have a good one.
