My Mantle...It's A Start

Good morning, again.

Here is what I've done so far with the mantle. It's a start. There are 2 pairs of glass candle sticks, which I paid a buck a pair for at a yard sale last summer. Two Norman Rockwell plates, one was a gift, the other bought at an auction for like $8. The 2 short, amber glass vases are Wheaton glass, one was $2 at a yard sale, the other was given to me by none other than "Anonymous Cathy". The tall amber glass came from my Aunts house after she had passed away and we were cleaning out her house for sale. Like I said, it's a start...I'm not experienced at this crap, and I'm sure I'll be fidgeting with it, adding to it, rearranging it, until I am happy with it. An interior decorator I am not! I think I need to move the plates together and then put a painting or something on the other side...

Maybe a couple of pieces of "milk glass"?

Then there's this vase...I came up with this this morning. It will be going up on top of my large china cabinet.

I think I may have just discovered my new winter hobby! Interior decorating! Bring on the paint! I am eager to get started on the familyroom. That paint job has to go. The lighting sucks too, but I got a great idea from the house we were at on New Years Eve to fix that. New paint will change the lighting also.
