My Bark Heart
Good morning.
I really have nothing to say this morning. Got a good sleep. Picked up some more of that wonder-drug yesterday, haven't had todays dose yet. I'm now going to try to time it properly, like 8 in the morning and 8 at night. I wasn't doing that before, and was taking it at odd hours. I think I will benefit the most if I take it at the same time every day, assuming I can remember to take it on time.
I dug out a cheap old frame last night and framed that piece of bark. It looks lame, but, whatever. Whenever I see the perfect background for it, I'll add it. The piece of bark was actually much bigger and I had to trim the heart out of it in a size that would fit in the frame. It was quite thick in spots and very hard to cut with scissors. I took a picture of it this morning...
When we sold the cottage, we cleared out a ton of "stuff", I have boxes of it out in the garage. I'm thinking if I ever get around to sorting through those boxes I may find something in there that will make the perfect background for this frame.
After me telling the world I never use coupons, what does Hubby bring home yesterday? 2 coupons for $3 off the admission for that motorcycle show this weekend! Gawd. But hey, we will use them because the cost of admission is ridiculous.
It's raining. Ugh.
As my cycle takes me nearer to that nightmare world of PMS, I am starting to feel down. It could be the couple of days without the medication, or it could be it was all in my head afterall, and the medication was really doing nothing for me. For all I know, it is just a placebo, the mind is a very powerful thing. Or maybe this is that one week in my cycle where I feel sane and human. We'll see.
The reason we ended up in The Bargain Shop yesterday was, I had bought Little R a camera there. It was a 3-in-1 digital camera. It was a webcam, we were planning to get her a computer for Christmas, but then we thought about it, and, we already have 2 computers in use, what do we need with another one? Anyhow, the camera was cheap, but I thought it would serve the purpose. Little R can be very careless, destructive even, with her possessions, so I wasn't about to go spend a ton of money on a good camera for her. She got a 30GB iPod, and a charging dock with AM/FM, CD player, clock radio stereo, that was extreme enough for her. When she used the camera and we loaded her pictures onto the computer, they were crap. The camera was crap. We went there yesterday to return it, with promises of getting her a better one at a later date. What we saw while standing at the check-out was a stack of Kodak Easy Share cameras for $100! Cool. They're refurbished, but, they come with a one year warranty, so what the hell eh. So as soon as we have $100 to throw on a camera, we'll go get one. Obviously, if she does well with it and doesn't lose or destroy it, we can always get her a better one, a new one, another Christmas.
We also got her a phone for her room, only to discover there is no phone jack in her room, sigh. She wants a cell phone, and I almost got her one, but I didn't think it was fair that Big R was 16 when we got her her first cell phone. Little R can wait til she's 16 too. I still have our old cell phones which are the same as that first one we gave Big R. I cannot believe the size of these things lmao. They seemed small at the time I guess, but they are the size of cordless phones now. They're at least 4 times the size of the cell I have now. Where did I carry it?? Must have carried a big purse at the time lol.
I can remember, this would be early 80's, watching some David Suzuki show on TV and turning to my ex-husband and saying, what will they think of next? You watch, one day we'll have portable phones, wouldn't that be something? LOL. The next thing I know we had mobile phones. Remember the great big "mobile" phones? Omg lol. And then came the cordless phones. And now we have handheld computers!
Anyhow, one more thing on Hubbys Honey-Do List, put a jack in the kids room, sigh.
Well, I'm done chattering, have a great day!
