Eddie The Shit Disturber
Good morning.
Why is it, that every Eddie you meet is a character? Our little Eddie is a shit disturber. We've been watching him. It seems when he is bored, he likes to torment Bear. He will sneak up on him and nip at him, pull his fur, etc. until Bear turns around and nips back. Depending on what position Bear is in, Eddie will either go after his ears, his back legs, his tail or his back. He will continue to do it until Bear lets out this one high pitched bark and snaps at him. Then he runs, and he is soooo fast. Then I swear he sits there and laughs at Bear! It is actually pretty hilarious to watch, but, poor Bear. Eddie also seems to think he's a cat. He walks around on the back of the couch like its a balance beam, and leaps off, not so gracefully, landing halfway across the room. Last night, Bear tried to pull an Eddie and stood with his front paws on the back of the couch, while standing on the couch, and it was very awkward, absolutely no cat-like grace happening there. We were like "ok Bear, get down before you fall down." Whenever I pay any attention to Bear, Eddie is right in there, he gets jealous or something, and gets right in my face, which then pisses Bear off. Whenever I pay any attention to Eddie, Bear just silently watches every move I make, sometimes lifting his head and looking at me, as if to say "I can't believe you just said that to him!"
They are such opposites, Bear is so big and clumsy and mellow and laid back. Eddie is so tiny and hyper and all over the place. They both run to the windows barking whenever they hear a noise outside. Good thing there are 3 windows to choose from or they'd probably be fighting over looking out the window to bark at the neighbourhood.
Eddie has a thing for eating wood chips or whatever else he finds on the floor. He also has a thing for eating out of Bears bowl. I don't think he ever drinks his own water. Every once in a while Bear will do him the same favour and go take a few bites of Eddies food and a few laps of Eddies water.
Last night Hubby decided it was time to get them out for a walk, they haven't been out for a walk since last weekend, its just been too damn cold out. He took them seperately, Bear went first. Eddie ran around and cried the whole time they were gone. Hubby informed me he did the same thing earlier when I had gone to the store for milk.
They are a great source of amusement. I still have hope that one day they will be BFFs. They are still improving with each day.
So this cold snap doesn't look like its going to let up any time soon. It took a long time to get the chill out of the house once we got that load of propane. It seemed like the furnace didn't stop all night the first night. I just now looked outside and it is snowing heavily, again. Little R was home again yesterday, because we all slept in, she missed her bus and I guess her dad didn't want to drive her to school for whatever reason (if I had been up, I would've drove her). I keep checking the school bus site and each time I check they've added a new area to the cancelled list for today. So far, our area is still open today. Sigh. They've been known to cancel school at the last minute, I hate when that happens. Just cancel it with all the rest. I swear we have the wishy-washyiest bus drivers around. Can't make up their bloody minds. Fortunately nothing has ever happened with Little Rs bus, but last year there were some instances of buses going into ditches and getting stranded and the like. From what I just saw, visibility is poor at best. I haven't been able to figure out what they base their decisions on in all these years. The last day before the Christmas holiday was cancelled due to RAIN, but now we have heavy snowfall and poor visibility but they haven't cancelled? So far, our County, north of HWY. 89 is cancelled? I've never seen them do that before, split it up into different areas like that, sheesh, whats next?
Ok, well, I've babbled enough, time to get the school show on the road.
Have a wonderful day!
