SNOW SQUALLS ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE IN EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO UNTIL THIS EVENING. SNOW SQUALLS OFF GEORGIAN BAY AND LAKE HURON WILL CONTINUE. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SNOWSQUALLS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS..LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS.
WINDS AS STRONG AS 70 GUSTING TO 110 KM/H WILL BE FELT IN AREAS ALONG THE EASTERN SHORE OF LAKE ERIE THIS EVENING. THE WINDS SHOULD DIE DOWN BELOW WARNING CRITERIA TONIGHT. VERY COLD ARCTIC AIR HAS REACHED THE LOWER GREAT LAKES. AS A RESULT SNOW SQUALLS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE AREAS ADJACENT TO EASTERN LAKE ONTARIO AND WILL CONTINUE INTO THIS EVENING WHEN THEY WILL MOVE SOUTHWARDS. SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS OF 50 KM/H WITH GUSTS TO 80 KM/H ACCOMPANYING THESE SQUALLS WILL CAUSE WHITEOUT CONDITIONS. IN THE PICTON - SANDBANKS REGION WINDS COULD BE AS HIGH AS 70 GUSTING TO 90 KM/H. SNOW SQUALLS EAST OF GEORGIAN BAY WILL CONTINUE GIVING ADDITIONAL SNOW AMOUNTS OF 20 TO 30 CENTIMETRES IN SOME LOCALITIES. THIS EVENING THESE SQUALLS SHOULD GRADUALLY SHIFT SOUTHWARDS. CAUTION IS ADVISED AS TRAVEL WILL BE HAZARDOUS IN THE WARNED AREAS DUE TO LOCAL WHITEOUT CONDITIONS IN FALLING AND BLOWING SNOW. INCREASINGLY COLD AIR HAS ARRIVED FROM THE WEST. LOW TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH WINDS OF 40 KM/H WITH GUSTS TO 60 KM/H WILL GIVE WIND CHILL VALUES NEAR MINUS 30 TONIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING IN AREAS OF SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO AWAY FROM THE GREAT LAKES.PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST PUBLIC FORECASTS FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
