Spring Is On The Way
Good morning.
I just woke up, made myself a coffee and came down to my computer, just like I do every morning. I was thinking along the way. I was remembering the conversation I had with my father the night of his surgery. He told me they wanted him back at Sunnybrook in the morning and I said "What?! Why would they do that? Why would they send you home then? Why not keep you overnight?" You know what his reply was? You know what he said to me? He said "Well, I don't know, that's just the way they do things these days." That's what he said. That's where I got the idea the hospital was full of barbaric, uncaring, beasts. That's where I got the idea the Minister of Health needed a good blasting from me. Not once did my father mention that it was all HIS idea to go home. Basically he LIED to me! UGH. I guess my father didn't realize things like that will send me on a letter writing tirade. I'll bet my father has never once in his 91 years written a letter to the government. I'll bet he has never complained to a politician. I'll bet he never would've expected me to either.
In other news, I got this cute email yesterday. It's "describe your friends in one word." So you send your one word back to the person who sent you the email describing them, and then you forward the email out to all your friends, and they each send you a one word description of yourself. I like what I've got back so far. It's amazing, I would never have thought of these words to describe myself, but I suppose they are true of me. It's cool to know what others think of you as well.
Unless they're all a bunch of big fat liars, I'm not such a bad person. I have qualities I wasn't even aware of. Wowza.
Lets see, what else can I babble about this morning? In our travels Hubby and I picked up these coin sheets at a dollar store. Two sheets per package, we got two packages. I thought that would be plenty for the little coin collection I have. Nope. Not enough, need more. Do you think either one of us can remember which dollar store we got them at? Nope. Not a clue. The problem is, if we go to a strange town for some odd reason, somewhere we never go, we always check out the local dollar store. For example, we were in Acton once to drop off a borrowed trailer. We never go to Acton, for anything, ever. While we were there we popped into the dollar store. Did we get the coin sheets in Acton then? Who knows?
So today is Groundhog Day. Yippee! That means spring is coming! I'm really looking forward to it again this year. Speaking of gardening...I hacked down my big house plant last night. I got this plant from my aunts house after she died. I have no idea what it is, but this thing is huge. It finally reached the ceiling, and someone recently told me if I cut it, it will continue to grow and if I put the top part in water, it will root and I can plant it and then have two plants. So, that's what I've done. I sure hope it works. It would be a shame to destroy such an old plant.
Anyways, I think I'm going to dig some new gardens this year. I think this will be the year of trees too. We need trees. I can't wait to get started. I have grown quite fond of gardening. It's something I truly enjoy doing.
Spring also means riding season. Last year was such a burn with the bike not running properly. I can't wait to get back in the saddle too. Something else I truly enjoy doing. A lot of people ask me when I'm going to get my own bike. The truth is, I have no desire to ride myself. I am quite content in the backseat. I trust Hubby with my life. I wouldn't get on with just anybody driving. I do my own thing back there, like taking pictures and video. Anyone who rides with us, gets their picture taken riding. Not everyone has pictures of themselves riding ya know. That's another thing I am growing very fond of doing, photography.
You know something that really sucks? Going to a garden center on a bike! Yes, we've done that. You can't fit much in the way of plants, flowers, statues or dirt in saddlebags LOL! But you can fit a couple of plants, hehehe.
Spring also means yard sales!! Yipee! Another place you don't want to go on a bike, but we have. And we have come home with the bags CRAMMED full. We've also bought stuff and said ok we'll be back with the car or truck. Maybe this is the year I should have my own yard sale. Yes I think so. I've got a lot of stuff put together for one. Now would be the time to start organizing it too. Great idea me. I always want to do it on the May long weekend, but something else always comes up. The past couple of years I've tried to get a street sale going, because we live so far off the well beaten path, I think more people would come if it was a street sale as opposed to a one home yard sale. But on the May long weekend a lot of folks go away. I must admit the first couple of years after selling the cottage it felt most odd to not be going away. But I'm used to it now. Who needs a cottage when you live in paradise? So, thats it, this year, with or without the neighbours, I'm having my yard sale on the May long weekend. I'll do up a flyer to put in all the neighbours mailboxes asking them to join in and make it a street sale. There are plenty of people like myself out there who will come out here for one yard sale. Hard core yard/garage salers.
Life is soooo sweeeet!
Have a grrrreeeeaaat day!
