I'm happily married to Mr. Man. We have 2 daughters, Big R and Little R. I'm a stay at home mom. We moved from the big city to the country, living a dream. I'm a collector and a packrat. I'd rather read a book than watch a movie. I battle depression. I love life, but that wasn't always the case. This is my journal.

Three Soldiers And A Jeep

Good evening.

What a strange and wonderful day we had! After Hubby and Little R returned from their breakfast with Santa, we all headed into town to do some grocery shopping, and to get a Christmas tree.
Obviously our first stop is Timmy Ho's. The drive thru line was as long as it can be without backing out onto the road. We're sitting there and suddenly I notice the car in front of us, I say "Isn't that S.W ahead of us?" Sure enough it was. So I get on the cell phone and call her. We can see her fooling with her phone, finally she answers and I say "Hi, I'll have two extra large double doubles please" Hahahaha. It was fun. Once we get up to the pick up window, hadn't she paid for our order! She is so sweet that way. Thank you again S.W.
And this reminds me of the time I cut off a guy in a Timmy's drive thru line, because he was leaving a gap for through traffic, and I was distracted, and I just whipped in ahead of him. Didn't take long to figure out what I had done, with him honkin and yellin and shakin his head at me, so when I got to the window I told them I wanted to pay for his order, but they gave me a hard time about it! They didn't want to do it, I guess it was more work for them or something, it was also down in the city... but they did do it. I felt like such a shmuck lol.
Hubby decided to go for the tree first. Along the way, on Hockley Valley Rd. (a great riding road btw!), we came upon 3 soldiers and a jeep. Their jeep was in the ditch. So Hubby pulled over to see if he could lend a hand, us gals stayed in the truck, I thought maybe they were just practising, you know...soldier stuff. We just happened to have some rope that we used just the other day to pull our own truck out of our own ditch, a whole other story there. The three, very young, fellas declined Hubbys offer of assistance as they had a tow truck on the way apparently, thanking him profusely they sent us on our way. Off we went, discussing, gee, three strapping young dudes, they can't get a little jeep out of a quite shallow ditch, and this is our armed forces?? We're in trouble! lol
We were in and out of the tree farm within 10 minutes, no fuss, no muss, has to be a record there.
Returning the same way, the soldiers were still there, fooling around, they had shovels and all kinds of crap, crawling around, digging, and no tow truck in sight. We kept going. I KNOW Hubby could have had them out in a snap, but hey, they didn't want his help, what can ya do?
We got our tree at the same place last year. It's an actual Christmas tree farm, they have beautiful trees, great quality, great choice, pre-cut or cut your own, and for the going rates, reasonable prices.
We decided to go home, drop off the tree and the kid, and head back into town for groceries. Over $300!! later we were out of that zoo. But we did manage to snag a couple of cool gifts for our daughter and a cook-from-frozen pre-stuffed turkey (those are hard to find sometimes) among other stuff, thus the high bill.
And now we're home relaxing, well, I'm relaxing, while Hubby prepares chicken paprikash (a popular Hungarian dish) for our dinner.
Life is good I tell ya.
