Eeww That Smell
Good morning.
We're out of propane, again. The tank is on 0%. We put in the order yesterday and they said they would deliver it today. Of course, that means the house reeks of propane, what a horrible smell. Being that we are now into May, the weather should start warming up, this tank should last us all summer. But my gawd it's cold in here this morning. It isn't warming up fast enough for my likings. I keep thinking about how we sometimes get snow in May around here. I'm desperately hoping that doesn't happen this year. I'm so tired of being cold. I am longing for the sweltering heat of summer. During the summer, the only propane we use is for the hot water heater. So really, $400 worth should last until the fall. This winter was insane because it got so cold so early. We had to turn the furnace on in September, that's not normal. I think we'll be more dilligent in seeking out free firewood this summer too. We had almost enough, it would have been enough if we didn't have to start using it so early in the season. We may even break down and buy a load for next winter. The first couple of years we made the mistake of ordering primo firewood. That's very expensive. Then we discovered free firewood. Much better, but not as easy to come by. A couple of our friends order this stuff called slab wood. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems to be a much better deal than the primo stuff. So I think we'll try that out this year. Even though it's a sunny spring day, it is quite chilly still.
Poor Hubby. He's in a lot of pain now. Why is it harder to see someone else in pain than to be in pain yourself? Now I'm thinking Tuesday night he was still under the influence of the anasthetic, and once it wore off completely the pain took over. It's difficult to watch him hobbling around. And of course he won't just sit down and relax.
I went to put something in the garage yesterday only to find it is now completely full. It is full right up to the door. There is no way to get in without pulling everything out. Because my old car is leaking oil, like badly, there's a hole in the oil pan, Hubby got himself a nice little gas powered pressure washer to clean the oil off the driveway. There is no way we can put it in the garage. So it still sits in the trunk of my car, sigh. With bringing Bertha home (we really should have cleared it out and made proper room for the bike before putting it in there) and then all the left over garage sale stuff piled just inside the door, that's it, it's packed full. I was just shocked when I opened the door yesterday and saw it. God bless yard sales. I'm still planning to have one here in a couple of weeks, on the long weekend. A lot of the stuff, and big stuff, taking up space in the garage will be going. Again if I can't get rid of it then, that's it, it's going to the dump or the Thrift Store. Just for an example, we have one of those old fashioned hi-fi console stereos. We got it at a yard sale about 10 years ago. It was at the cottage, but when we sold the cottage we brought it here, thinking it would be a great garage stereo. This thing is like 6 feet long, it takes up an awful lot of room. Over time it got covered in tools and whatnot, so now we can't even use it. It has become more of a table than anything. You have to be able to open it to use it, and we can't open it without clearing it off. I think we paid $25 for it back then and it was the nostalgia that got us. It has a turntable! And an 8-track! That's one thing I'll be trying to get rid of at my yard sale. I know I won't get no $25 for it, but that's ok, I'd give it away at this point. Just take it, please. We get a lot of traffic going by here, people going camping and to their cottages and trailers. So I figure the long weekend is a good time for a yard sale. Not only do I have stuff left over but I have all the stuff I never even got to. And this time I will have Hubbys help with it. All I can hope for is nice weather, no rain, on the long weekend.
I just slipped outside with the boys, it is shaping up to be a warm day. Much nicer out in the sun than down here in the familyroom. The grass does need a cutting already. Hubby is still in bed resting and it's about time. I'm not going to disturb him at this point, he needs the rest. Maybe I'll take the boys out and see what kind of photos I can get with their new Harley caps on. The one we got for Edwad is a little too big for him. He has such a tiny head! His is denim and Bears is fake leather. They probably both fit Bear, I know the leather one does. Anyhow, I'm off to do that, check back for the photos and have a lovely day.
