I'm happily married to Mr. Man. We have 2 daughters, Big R and Little R. I'm a stay at home mom. We moved from the big city to the country, living a dream. I'm a collector and a packrat. I'd rather read a book than watch a movie. I battle depression. I love life, but that wasn't always the case. This is my journal.

Happy Groundhog Day!

That was quite the little storm we had yesterday. We got probably a good foot of snow dumped on us. I was sitting here at the computer and I could hear a noise outside. At first I thought it was a snowblower. But then as it continued it sounded more like a car stuck in the snow. So I went upstairs to investigate. When I looked out I saw Mr. Man in the driveway, which was a surprise because he shouldn't have been home from work yet. Then I saw where the noise was coming from. Some ski-masked man was plowing our driveway using a 4 wheeler with a snow plow attached to the front of it. It turns out Mr. Man was let out of work an hour early because of the weather conditions, and it was his boss, our friend/neighbour who was plowing our driveway. So that was a very pleasant surprise to have Mr. Man home early, when I expected him to be late, and to have the driveway plowed, since I expected Mr. Man to force me to help him shovel it.

The truck is all fixed up with new tires too. So now I finally have the car. Too bad the weather has not been cooperative. There was no way I was going out in that mess yesterday. The weather has been pretty crappy all week. Oh well, it's supposed to get nicer next week. But I'm still so nervous about driving. It's been so long. I probably won't go anywhere until I absolutely have to. Which will be Monday because I have to drive Little R to her school to hand in some overdue assignments. Even though she has no school on Monday, we still have to go there. She's been working on her assignments the past couple of days. They should have been done weeks ago. It has not been a good start to high school for her. She may fail all her classes this semester. But like I said before, hopefully she will learn from this and do better next semester.

So today is Groundhog Day. Wiarton Willie did not see his shadow, that means an early spring. I don't really believe these silly traditions. I'm sure we have at least 6 weeks of winter left to go. The one in the States, Punxsutawney Phil, did see his shadow. At any rate I know spring won't be here until May. No matter what the groundhogs say, seems they can't agree anyway.

Well Mr. Man has headed off to the Reserve for smokes yet again, doesn't seem like that long ago that we went the last time. I've been smoking far too much, but still, this seems ridiculous. I'm keeping the home fire burning and putting away the Christmas ornaments, finally. I'm on the lookout for stuff to post on Freecycle. There is a pile of stuff buried in a walk in closet that I want to post on Freecycle but I can't get at it. It is literally buried under other stuff. But it would make so much more room in there to store stuff properly if I could get this stuff out. Ah well, that's the story of my life lately, trying to declutter one thing at a time.

Happy Groundhog Day! Have a great day.
